Here at Babakoto we took the decision to radically change the way we do business in order to reduce our carbon footprint and offset the power we use in renewable energy sources and natural resources.

Every Amp of power used is offset in this way BUT we also offset additional power to take into account the data centre cooling required for our data centre footprint. What does this mean for our clients? Basically this means that if you host your website with us you can tell your customers proudly that your site is hosted on a carbon-offset server and that your carbon footprint for this is effectively zero.

If you colocate your servers with us you can tell you clients that your servers are fully carbon-offset.

More importantly; Babakoto has been advising a new data centre build about green issues and we shall soon be moving the majority of our own kit into a green site data centre where everything is carbon-offset and where Phase 2 will be using water mist fire suppression and flywheel UPS. This is rather than conventional battery UPS (batteries have a limited lifespan and need to be disposed of causing landfill and the need for the disposal of many litres of acid) and gas fire suppression where the gas is extracted into the environment.
